The Mira Mesa Recreation Council meets the second Tuesday of each month at the Lopez Ridge Park meeting room, at 7:00 PM. Recreation Council Board members for 2012 are:

A connector trail from Camino Ruiz Park to Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve is now open. The grand opening of the of the Camino Ruiz Trail was on August 8th, 2009 (Pictures here).

Camino Ruiz Neighborhood Park opened on July 29, 2006.

Breen Neighborhood Park opened on October 19, 2005.

ByLaws Update - the bylaws are being revised to comply with a new City template. The new bylaws were approved by the Recreation Council on February 12, 2008.

Park information:

A new plan is being developed for the Mira Mesa Community Park, including the site across New Salem where Little League fields are located. A community swimming pool and a new or expanded field house are planned to be built on the site. Two community workshops were held to discuss the Park design. The first took place on May 22, 2004 and the second workshop took place on Oct. 16.
