June 9, 8 AM update: The fire is now 40% contained and all evacuations and warnings have been cancelled.
4:50 PM Update. Evacuation order has been lifted. The fire is 20% contained. Nonresidents still advised to stay out of the area.
From Michaela Valk: Fire conditions have improved, evacuation warnings have been lifted and evacuation orders are beginning to lift. SDPD is assisting in re-populating the areas. Please continue to look at Genasys based on your location.
Road closures on Sorrento Valley Blvd remain in place, but access will be allowed for credentialed news media and residents with proper identification.
As residents re-enter evacuation zones, please drive slowly, stay alert, and watch for emergency personnel working in the area.

The temporary evacuation point remains open for evacuated residents at Mandell Weiss Eastgate Park, located at Regents Road and Eastgate Mall. If you’re unsure whether your home is still under an evacuation order or warning, please check your address on the Genasys Protect website.
3 PM Update: Here is the latest update internally now: Fire is holding the line along the ridgelines and hoping the winds don’t increase. They’re fighting the spots that flare up and looking for the Marine Layer to move in and help. All Evacs are still in place and will be for a while longer. No structures lost and no injuries. The Temporary Evac Point next to Northern Division had 40 people + 6 dogs. Red Cross/City OES/ Humane Society are handling. FIFA looks unaffected, though their hotel is still under an Evacuation Warning. Emergency Planning will be out for awhile longer for re-population when we get there.

A brush fire in Sorrento Valley has prompted evacuation orders and warnings for nearby residents.
🔴 EVACUATION ORDER
• 10500 block of Sand Crab Place
• 10500 block of Corte Jardin Del Mar
A mandatory evacuation order means there is an immediate threat to life. Residents in the affected area should leave now and follow directions from emergency personnel. Do not wait for conditions to worsen.
🟡 EVACUATION WARNING
• 5000 block of Sea Mist Lane
An evacuation warning means there is a potential threat to life and property. Be prepared to leave at a moment’s notice. Gather essential items, monitor official updates, and be ready to evacuate if conditions change.
