The Mira Mesa Town Council Board of Directors has appointed Jennifer Kvalvik as President of the Mira Mesa Town Council subject to confirmation by the membership at the August 3rd general meeting. The previous president Shane O’Garro resigned due to family issues that required him to move back to Boston. See Shane’s letter in the August MMTC Newsletter. The Board thanks Shane for his service on the Board and as President. Andrew Mercado has been appointed to take over Jennifer’s previous Director at Large position.
Message from Jennifer Kvalvik:
It is my pleasure to announce, starting August 2026, that I will be serving as your new President of the Mira Mesa Town Council.
I have been on the Town Council for 20 plus years and have enjoyed being a part of an organization that helps make a difference in the climate of this immense community. I know that we can work together to make our neighbors feel that they can be a part of as well as get involved in the variety of projects, celebrations, and events we organize. I love this community as I have lived here for almost 40 years and taught at Mira Mesa High School for 28 years, recently retiring. I look forward to serving in this capacity knowing that Mira Mesa is a community of traditions and connections and I will continue to foster that philosophy.
