Jennifer Kvalvik, President
Jennifer has lived in Mira Mesa for almost 40 years and has been a part of the Mira Mesa Town Council for over 20 years. She has served in several capacities including member at large, Street Fair committee, scholarship committee and she has been president of the Banner District since its conception. Jennifer is retired from 28 years at Mira Mesa High School where she served on several committees and taught several different subjects including Hospitality and Tourism. She is the recipient of the 2020 Volunteer of the Year for Mira Mesa. Jennifer is very happy to continue to serve her community as President of the Mira Mesa Town Council.
Pam Stevens, First Vice President
Pam Stevens has served on the MMTC Board for many years as first vice-president and as newsletter editor, and for one year as president (1983) after all other Board members decided to retire at the same time. Pam has always had a particular love for the Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve, and has served on the Los Penasquitos Canyon Citizens Advisory Committee since the mid-1980’s. Pam was a librarian for the City of San Diego, retiring after 23 years in 2023. Pam wrote articles, including a regular weekly column, for the Mira Mesa/Scripps Ranch Sentinel, from the early 1980’s until the newspaper ceased publication in 2009. She continues to write articles for the Mira Mesa Town Council newsletter. She is the author of “Mira Mesa”, a book about the community of Mira Mesa in the Images of America Series published by Arcadia Press.
Kimi Williams, Second Vice-President, Membership
Kimi Williams is a seasoned business management professional with over 25 years of experience in finance, business operations, and entrepreneurial leadership. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Business Management and a Master’s degree in Healthcare Management, providing a strong foundation in strategic planning, organizational leadership, and healthcare administration.
Growing up in a family of small business owners and entrepreneurs, Kimi developed a deep understanding of retail operations and the dedication required to build and sustain successful businesses. She is currently a business owner in the retail sector and has also served as a commissioned Notary Public for more than 18 years, earning a reputation for professionalism and trust.
Kimi has been an active member of Boards of Directors within the San Diego Chambers, contributing her experience to support local economic development and community engagement. A longtime resident of Mira Mesa since 1990, she remains deeply involved in the community through charitable work, fundraising efforts, church involvement, and women’s organizations.
In her personal time, Kimi enjoys traveling and outdoor activities, reflecting her passion for balance, cultural experiences, and lifelong growth.
Jeff Stevens, Secretary
Jeff Stevens served on the Mira Mesa Town Council Board of Directors from 1985-1989 as secretary/treasurer, vice-president and president (1988-1989), from 2001-2002 as parliamentarian, and from 2006-2025 as treasurer, president (2007-2009) and recording secretary. He has chaired the Mira Mesa Street Fair committee since 2009. He initiated the MMTC website and has served as webmaster since its inception in 2001. He has also served on the Mira Mesa Community Planning Group most of the time since 1986, and is currently Planning Group chairman. Professionally, he has a B.S. in Physics from UCLA and an M.S. in Physics and a Ph.D. in Geophysics from the University of Colorado and works as a geophysicist at Leidos.
Jonathan Lea, Treasurer
Jonathan Lea grew up in rural Virginia near Charlottesville. After graduating from the University of Virginia with an accounting degree, he was commissioned in the Navy, which brought him to the West Coast. He’s been a Mira Mesa resident since 1994. After completing his active duty and reserve service in the Navy, Jonathan transitioned from healthcare accounting to tax work, a field he’s been in since 1994, operating his own tax practice. He holds a master’s in financial planning from San Diego State and is both a CPA and an IRS Enrolled Agent.
In his personal time, Jonathan is a fan of movies and music, and he enjoys playing guitar and singing karaoke.
Jonathan joined the Mira Mesa Town Council in 2015 to familiarize himself with and support community events.
Eric Kolbeck, Parliamentarian
Eric Kolbeck has served on the MMTC Board as Parliamentarian since 2022. He has also served for several years as chairman of the Mira Mesa Town Council/Verne Goodwin Scholarship committee.
Eric is a software engineer who takes pride in helping people work more efficiently. He enjoys outdoor adventures such as hiking, biking, and camping when he’s not working or relaxing.
Yvonne Negron, Board Member at Large
Yvonne was born and raised in the Bronx, New York, and moved to San Diego in 1986. She lives and works in the Mira Mesa community along with her husband and three sons.
Yvonne is a licensed acupuncturist and owns/operates her private practice since 1993. She joined the Mira Mesa Town Council in 2019 to support the incredible events the council organizes and to stay connected to the community.
Aida Pampo, Board Member at Large
Aida joined the MMTC to become more involved with the community. Previously, she was the MMHS Class of 2023 PBO President and a Band Parent for four years. She joined the Council on January 6th and was honored to be sworn in by City Councilman Kent Lee.
Aida created the MiraMazing T-Shirts because our wonderful community is comprised of amazing people. Mira Mesa is one big melting pot of diversity. Our neighbors are talented, caring and contribute to Mira Mesa in their own special way.
Andrew Mercado, Board Member at Large
Andy Mercado is a dedicated community leader, a retired educator of 39 years with San Diego City Schools, and a 51-year resident of Mira Mesa. A proud graduate of San Diego State University with a BA in Fine Arts and a member of Mira Mesa High School’s Class of 1981—having also been part of the school’s founding 1976 junior/senior high class—Andy remains deeply invested in his neighborhood and local community initiatives. He is married with two children.
He serves as a board member for the Mira Mesa Town Council, lends his time to the Mira Mesa 4th of July and Fireworks Committee and the Epicentre Advisory Team, and owns and operates an automotive graphics business. Beyond his civic involvement, Andy is a prominent figure in the local automotive scene, heading up the San Diego Car Enthusiasts Car Club, Scripps Ranch Cars and Coffee, and Point Loma Cars and Coffee.
