Enjoy a “Holiday Social with Santa” at MMTC Meeting Dec. 1

Come a little early to the December 1st Mira Mesa Town Council meeting and enjoy a chance to begin the evening by taking a photo with Santa!
The MMTC meeting will start at 7pm as usual on Monday, December 1, 2025, in the community meeting room of the Mira Mesa Branch Library, 8405 New Salem St. The public is invited to attend!
Santa will be available for photos as you arrive, from 6:30pm to 7pm, as well as at the end of December’s brief business meeting. The evening will end with refreshments and a chance to chat. Come enjoy a holiday social with Santa!
At the Dec. 1st meeting MMTC members will vote on approval of the Fiscal 2027 budget for the Mira Mesa Maintenance Assessment District (MM MAD), as presented by MM MAD Committee chair Tom Derr. The MM MAD takes care of the landscaping on the medians along Mira Mesa Boulevard.

Get the latest update about fireworks show fundraising for 2026 from Michael Spencer, president of Scripps Mesa Fireworks, the volunteer non-profit group which raises funds for and puts on our local Independence Day fireworks in Mira Mesa each July. The group needs to make a deposit of half the cost of the show in mid-January 2026 to Pyro Spectaculars, the fireworks professionals wo set off the display. Starting December 1, 2025, Scripps Mesa Fireworks will be offering Regal Cinemas ticket bundles as a fundraiser. Scripps Mesa Fireworks will also soon kick off the group’s latest “opportunity drawing” fundraiser, this one for a patriotic patterned, quilted “casserole carrier,” handcrafted and donated by Jennifer Dronick. Next year’s local fireworks for the communities of Mira Mesa and Scripps Ranch will take place either on Friday, July 3 or Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 9pm, set off from the fields at the San Diego City and School District joint use park at Wangenheim Middle School. Whichever night is selected, Mira Mesa Town Council volunteers will organize a Community Picnic and “Countdown to the Fireworks” Watch Party and Independence Day Celebration at Hourglass Field Park on the southwest corner of the Miramar College campus.
The Mira Mesa Town Council is a non-profit civic group which holds monthly “town hall” meetings about community issues and sponsors projects for the benefit of the Mira Mesa community. Meetings are open to the public. All Mira Mesa residents, local businesspeople, and non-profit groups active in Mira Mesa are encouraged to become Mira Mesa Town Council members and get involved with the community.
