MMTC To Focus on Public Safety Issues at May 6 Meeting

The Mira Mesa Town Council invites everyone interested to attend the Mira Mesa Town Council meeting at the Mira Mesa Library at 7pm Monday, May 6, 2024.

The meeting will focus on public safety issues. MMTC president Bari Vaz is proposing an expanded and more structured Neighborhood Watch program for Mira Mesa, similar to programs now active in Scripps Ranch and Rancho Bernardo.

There will also be an update on the Scripps Mira Mesa Retired Senior Volunteer Patrol (RSVP) who act as extra “eyes and ears of the police” in fighting crime, and are seeking new participants. Requirements to join RSVP are to have a valid California driver’s license, be 50 years or older, retired or semi-retired, go through a background check, spend one week at an academy learning what to do and what not to do, and donate 3 ½ days a month.
