The Mira Mesa Town Council continues its annual tradition of hosting a “Schools Night” featuring principals of all elementary and secondary schools in Mira Mesa as the main program at its September meeting. The meeting is scheduled to take place Monday, September 8, 2024, at 7pm, at the Mira Mesa Branch Library community meeting room, 8405 New Salem St., San Diego CA 92126. The public is invited!

All ten principals of Mira Mesa Cluster public schools are invited to speak, including the principals of Ericson, Hage, Hickman, Jonas Salk, Mason, Sandburg, and Walker Elementary Schools; the principals of Challenger and Wangenheim Middle Schools; and the principal of Mira Mesa High School. In addition, the principals of two longtime private schools in Mira Mesa, Good Shepherd Catholic School and Christ the Cornerstone Academy, are invited to speak.

Each of the principals will talk for 3-4 minutes, sharing “something special” about themselves, their schools, students and parents, as well as upcoming events or special programs this school year.

San Diego Unified School District Board Member Sabrina Bazzo is also invited to speak. The Schools Night program will last for about an hour.

Following the special Schools Night program, there will be time for short reports from representatives of elected officials and community groups later in the meeting, as well as “open forum” for brief public comments on non-agenda items. MMTC meetings are scheduled to end no later than 9pm.
