“With the continuing wind down of COVID-19 restrictions, we have been working hard to try to present an event in Mira Mesa this year for the 4th of July,” states Bari Vaz, President of the Mira Mesa Town Council. “Every agency and entity with which we work has a different set of rules and requirements, some of which were in conflict; this left us unable to fulfill one without violating the other, or unable to present one portion of the event without cancelling another.”
“Given the current legal and insurance environment, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Mira Mesa 4th of July Parade and Fun Day in the Park. We are saddened that Mira Mesa will once again be without this amazing community event. However, we are heartened by the continuing reduction of COVID restrictions and will now put our efforts into presenting a bigger and better event for 2022, when we feel certain that the regulatory environments will allow us to continue the tradition.”
