Volunteer of the Year Dinner Invitation and Reservation

The Volunteer of the Year Dinner honoring Tom Derr will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Mira Mesa Senior Center, 8460 Mira Mesa Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92126. Reception and cocktails start at 6 PM followed by a catered dinner at 7 PM, program at 7:30 and music for listening and dancing until 10 PM. The Volunteer of the Year Dinner is sponsored by the Mira Mesa Town Council and the Mira Mesa Community Foundation.

The cost of the dinner is $40 if reservation is made by April 28, 2018 (extended from April 25), increasing to $50 after that date. Final day to make reservations is May 1.

Each year at the time of the Volunteer of the Year dinner the Mira Mesa Town Council also takes donations in recognition of our honoree to the college scholarship fund that MMTC awards to graduating high school seniors based on their community service. In addition to attending the dinner, you can honor Tom by making a scholarship fund donation in any amount.

To reserve online, please enter the names of those attending in the box below. The dinner entree is a Tex Mex chicken, which is a grilled chicken breast rubbed with mild chili sauce, fresh herbs and citrus juice. The vegetarian option is a quinoa-stuffed pepper with tomato coulis.

Scholarship donations will be held and passed on to the Mira Mesa Community Foundation for the Verne Goodwin Scholarship Fund. The Mira Mesa Community Foundation is a 501c(3) nonprofit corporation and scholarship donations are tax deductible.
