The MMTC Volunteer of the Year Dinner honoring Jennifer Kvalvik as 2019 Volunteer of the year, rescheduled from Spring 2020 due to the pandemic, will take place Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Casa Machado Restaurant, 3750 John J. Montgomery Drive, San Diego, CA 92123 (at Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport – freeway driving not necessary to reach venue). The Volunteer of the Year Dinner will start at 6:00 PM.
Reservations are now closed, but scholarship donations in any amount can be made using the form below.
The MMTC Volunteer of the Year Dinner will take place in Casa Machado’s banquet room, a covered patio overlooking the runways at Montgomery Field.
Guests are asked to arrive at 6:00 PM to find your table and have time to mingle and say hello to friends before the buffet opens at 6:30pm. The program will start about 7:00 or 7:15pm and conclude about 8:30 or 8:45pm.
Buffet menu will include:
- Chips and Salsa (green and red)
- Chicken Fajitas (chicken, grilled peppers and grilled onions)
- Cheese Enchiladas (corn tortillas and cheese)
- Chicken Taquitos (corn tortillas and chicken)
- Avocado Salad with Ranch or Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing
- Sour Cream
- Flour and Corn tortillas
- Soft Drinks/Tea included
Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase from restaurant wait staff throughout the evening.

To sign up for the dinner, either RSVP and pay online using the form below, or send a check covering the cost of dinners and any scholarship donations, with the names of those attending to the MMTC mailbox: Mira Mesa Town Council, PMB 230, 10606-8 Camino Ruiz, San Diego, CA 92126. The cost of the dinner is $40 if reservation is made by October 10, 2022, increasing to $45 on a space available basis after that date.
Each year at the time of the Volunteer of the Year dinner the Mira Mesa Town Council also takes donations in recognition of our honoree to the college scholarship fund that MMTC awards to graduating high school seniors based on their community service. In addition to attending the dinner, you can honor Jennifer by making a scholarship fund donation in any amount.
Scholarship donations will be held and passed on to the Mira Mesa Community Foundation for the Verne Goodwin Scholarship Fund. The Mira Mesa Community Foundation is a 501c(3) nonprofit corporation and scholarship donations are tax deductible.
