Mira Mesa Street Fair Saturday, September 25, 2010: The 12th annual Mira Mesa Street Fair was held on Saturday, Sept. 25th, 2010 from 10 AM to 4:30 PM on Camino Ruiz between Mira Mesa Boulevard and New Salem Street. More than 130 crafters, businesses, non-profit groups, and food vendors had booths at the event. Hosted by the Mira Mesa Town Council, the Street Fair featured a carnival with rides for children and teens, and continuous entertainment on two stages. Special attractions included large earth-moving equipment, a Marine bomb disposal unit and a display of classic cars. Vulcan Materials hosted a rock-painting booth for children to create their own “rock art.” SDG&E offered a lamp and light bulb exchange, providing compact fluorescent bulbs and floor or table lamps for the less energy efficient incandescent bulbs and halogen torchiere lamps. The Mira Mesa High School Foundation together with the MMHS water polo team had a dunk tank. Friends of the Mira Mesa Library held their biggest book sale of the year. There were stage performances of Filipino and Hawaiian dance, martial arts demos, and a variety of vocal artists and bands. Community stage entertainment was hosted by Ray Pinnock aka DJ Undaground.
